Do you use a dashcam as a trip cam?

We, like so many of you, used GoPro or less expensive "Sports" cams to capture all the exciting aspects of our trips whether they be a daily, weekend or longer.

We got sick and tired of suction cups falling off, losing a camera or two along the way, the SD card was full or just even forgetting to turn the damn thing on because it's on a bracket outside the vehicle,

when all we wanted to capture was that awesome hillclimb or cruising along the wide expanses of the beach on Fraser Island's east coast.

So we looked at dashcams to see if they would be a better option, coupled with the fact that they also record everything going on around you whilst powered on.

Great for any insurance claims, or for clarification of events happening in front or behind you (model specific).
